EMCC Welding Technology Students Participate in Cobot Workshop

Students in two Welding Technology classes on our Golden Triangle campus spent Wednesday afternoon learning about robotics in Mississippi State University’s lab for the Advancements in Manufacturing Upskilling Program, or AiM UP, at The Communiversity at EMCC.

MSU ISE Students Participate in Emphasis Workshop on Cobots & AMRs

Students from Mississippi State’s Industrial & Systems Engineering program visited the AiM UP Lab to participate in the Collaborative Robots and Introduction to Autonomous Mobile Robots workshop. During the session, they gained hands-on experience with advanced robotics technology—including programming a collaborative robot (cobot) and exploring the capabilities of autonomous mobile robots.

MMA-MEP Transforming Manufacturing: Solutions to Tomorrow’s Problems

The Mississippi Manufacturers Association – Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MMA-MEP) conducted a conference Tuesday [Mar. 18] at The Communiversity titled “Transforming Manufacturing: Solutions to Tomorrow’s Problems.” The event included a panel discussion on collaborative training programs to meet industry needs that was moderated by MMA-MEP Executive Director Sandy Crist.

MSU partners with EMCC to provide workforce training through the AiM UP program

MSU along with the Golden Triangle community and East Mississippi Community College are helping to provide training and support to industry partners and enhance the opportunities of Mississippians through the AiM UP initiative! MSU, EMCC formalize Communiversity partnership to upskill workforce for advanced manufacturing

Mississippi State University President Mark E. Keenum and East Mississippi Community College President Scott Alsobrooks cut the ribbon Wednesday [Jan. 29] for the MSU at the Communiversity partnership through the Advancements in Manufacturing Upskilling Program, better known as AiM UP. This partnership will provide workforce training for industry both inside the Golden Triangle and across the state.

Pontotoc Ridge Career and Technology Center Interactive AiM UP Tour

Students from Pontotoc Ridge Career and Technology Center visited the AiMUP Lab at The Communiversity at EMCC! During their visit, the students explored collaborative robots, autonomous mobile robots, and other industrial automation technologies. They even got hands-on experience programming the same advanced robots now transforming manufacturing facilities across the nation.

Oktibbeha County School District K-12 Interactive AiM UP Tour

We were excited to host Oktibbeha County School District intersession students in the AiM UP lab at The Communiversity at EMCC to learn about collaborative robots, autonomous mobile robots, and other industrial automation technologies! These students learned how to setup basic programs for the same robots that are currently being introduced in advanced manufacturing facilities all across the country.

AiM UP Receives 2024 Workforce Program of the Year Award at AccelerateMS Horizons Conference

At this year's AccelerateMS Horizons Conference, AiM UP was awarded the 2024 Workforce Program of the Year award. AiM UP, led by Mississippi State University and funded in part through the U.S. Department of Labor, United States Department of Defense, and AccelerateMS, is designed to strengthen Mississippi’s industrial base by establishing training hubs across the state and giving participants access to equipment currently being used by advanced manufacturing employers.

AiM UP and MAC Training Center Workshop for CTE Instructors and Career Coaches

AiM UP and ACI joined together to host CTE training for local teachers, directors, and career coaches. Participants were able to interact with and program collaborative robots.
